Day 1 - Get to your home for the week and settle in

Transfer from Rome or Pescara airports, train stations or hotels in your private van to our Estate or Villa locations in the town of Torre de’Passeri where there will be food and welcome drinks waiting with your hosts. Rest and enjoy our pools. Accommodation and tour orientations will be before dinner..

Day 2 Options - Adventure Park and Market Day or Zipline and Village Tour

Option 1 - In the morning, the kids and at least one adult head to a mountain adventure Park with rope bridges through the trees and more while the adults checkout the beautiful hill town of Guardiagrele to take into its local Sunday Market and get a great slice of authentic Italian life. For lunch, you go to the mountain village of Pretoro, which was voted one of the prettiest villages in Italy, and eat in a funky restaurant in a cave. After lunch, you’ll take a tour of the steep medieval streets of the village.

Option 2 - Head to the mountains outside the village of Pacentro and get your adrenalin pumping on one-kilometre-long zipline across the Pelegna valley. Lunch at a local restaurant and explore the village and its medieval castle towers in the afternoon. (This option is €50 per person extra and must be chosen one month in advance of arrival.)

Day 3 - Adriatic Coast Day

You start the day going for a bike (or ebike) ride along a path the runs right beside the blue-green sea. Along the way you will check out several funky fishing platforms only found in Abruzzo. Lunch will be above the waves on one of the platforms. After lunch, you’ll take a swim in the sea and soak in a little Italia beach town culture. On the way home, you’ll stop and pay respects at the Canadian WWII cemetery near Ortona.  Back home there will be a fresh pasta making class for everybody before dinner.

Day 4 - Mountain Day

Kids and Adults - You start with a drive up the Gran Sasso mountain then a short hike to a 10th-Century fortress overlooking the Tirino Vally and the high plains of Campo Imperatore. Lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch you visit the village of Santo Stefano where the buildings are stacked on top of each other. On the way home, you go up even higher to the amazing high plain of Campo Imperatore.

Day 5 - River Adventure and Wine

Nature Day - In the morning, you’ll take a lazy canoe/kayak trip down the beautiful Tirino river and admire its crystal-clear waters, Lunch will be at the Margiotta family winery where you will learn the secrets of wine making, eat heartily, and the adults can sample a few wines. After, you’ll explore the natural springs of Popoli on a nature walk.

Day 6 - See a River Inside a Cave

Kids and Adults – Today, you visit an amazing cave. It’s almost a kilometre long with a river running through it, complete with waterfalls and big cavernous rooms with statue-like stalagmites. Have a great tasting, small plate lunch of local specialties at a farm restaurant, and, if you have any engery left, make a quick stop at an active Roman ruin archeological dig.

Adults – Wine tasting in Villa or Tenuta before dinner.

Kids – Pool or a walk in the hills with the Amazing Abruzzo mutts.

Day 7 - Farm Day with Serena

Spend the day with our wonderful guide Serena and her family in her village of Pietranico. See their houses and farms. Meet the animals. Learn how to make ricotta cheese and traditional pasta with chickpea soup. After lunch, see the ancient and mysterious wine rocks scattered around the village. Finish the day with a few Abruzzese folks songs before dinner played by locals. Lots of fun.

Day 8 - Goodbye for now

Morning shuttles to Rome or Pescara airports, train stations or hotels.
