DAY 2 - GASTRONOMY ABRUZZESE STYLE
Today, we visit the town of Bucchianico and a centuries old olive oil press. Your host Francesca will explain the finer points of extra virgin olive oil production then delight your taste buds with her oil and wine and samples of traditional Abruzzese cuisine. Later, you take a walking tour of the beautiful town of Pretoro. 6 hours. Comfortable shoes. Moderate mobility.
DAY 3 - THE ADRIATIC COAST
A trip to the coast to see fishing platforms only found in Abruzzo.
Experience the Canadian WWII cemetery near Ortona.
Seafood lunch on a unique fishing platform over the sea.
Visit San Giovanni in Venere, a medieval abbey built on top of a Roman temple.

DAY 4 - VISTAS AND VILLAGES
You start with a drive up the Gran Sasso Massive to a 10th-Century fortress overlooking the Tirino Vally. Lunch in a local restaurant .
Visit Santo Stefano where the buildings are stacked on top of each other.
Then you see chapel with frescos done in 1263 - 250 years before that other chapel in Vatican City.
8 hours. Walking shoes. Moderate to difficult mobility to see fort. The rest is easy.
DAY 6 - PESCARA, WALKING AND SHOPPING, BEACH
The city of Pescara is Abruzzo’s cultural and business hub on the Adriatic Sea with a beautiful beach right next to the central district. It has a cool predestrian downtown, great food and fashion, and much more. We’ll go for a walk with you in the morning, or set you up on the beach, have lunch and then you are free to explore or just lounge the day away. Before dinner you have a wine tasting in the villa cellar. 6 hours. Easy mobility.
DAY 7 - THE GORGEOUS GORGE
Today, we spend the day in the breathtaking Sagittario Gorge, a World Wildlife Fund reserve.
You visit the sweet town of Scanno, walk its streets and experience traditional jewelry in a centuries old shop owned by the same family for nine generations.
Lunch is an enormous lakeside picnic provided by our chef Angela. Learn about some local miracles, and then take a walk in Orazio’s hometown Villalago.

DAY 1 - GET HERE, GET SETTLED
Pick up in Rome or Pescara, transfer to Villa d'Abruzzo. Welcome drinks and check in. Explore Torre de'Passeri, lounge by the pool, relax. Dinner and review of your trip plan.
